Our Story

Crafty Chook was born from a deep love of home, not just as a place, but as a feeling.  A place where we soften, gather and return to ourselves.  Where life is lived in quiet moments, familiar scents and simple rituals that bring comfort and calm.

The very first candle I made was called Home.  It felt only right.  Home has always been important to me, a space that welcomes, restores, and holds the people we love.  The scent was French Pear, chosen for its familiarity and warmth.  A fragrance many people recognise instantly, much like the feeling of home.

From that first candle, Crafty Chook grew naturally, shaped by the belief that everyday moments can be made more meaningful.  That caring for yourself doesn't have to be elaborate or indulgent, but can be found in small, intentional rituals at home.  Lighting a candle at dusk, spritzing a room before guests arrive, turning a simple bath into a moment of pause.

Each Crafty Chook product is a thoughtfully handcrafted in small batches using quality ingredients designed not only to scent your space, but to create a feeling.  Every fragrance and name carries intention, inspired by comfort, familiarity, and the quiet beauty of everyday life. 

Crafty Chook is created from my home, and I welcome you into my small studio.  A place to wander, smell and share.  A reflection of how I live, simple, beautiful, handcrafted, functional and warm.  A home should feel lived in, loved and gently cared for. 

This is a brand for those who believe they're allowed to have beautiful things in their home.  Things that are well made, meaningful, and good for the soul.  For those who see home, not as a routine but as a ritual.
