Beautiful Ways to Reuse Candle Jars at Home

I’ve always believed that beautiful homes are created slowly over time.

Not through perfection, but through collected objects, thoughtful styling and pieces that continue being loved long after their original purpose has changed.

Long before Crafty Chook became a home fragrance brand, I spent years restoring and styling upcycled furniture. I loved finding beauty in pieces that had been overlooked and giving them a second life within the home. Old wooden drawers became storage. Vintage ladders became blanket holders. Weathered furniture found new purpose through styling and creativity. I think that mindset naturally carried through into Crafty Chook, because even now, I rarely see a candle jar as simply a candle jar.

Once the candle has finished burning, the vessel often continues living somewhere else within the home. Styled on shelves amongst books and collected objects. Sitting beside the kitchen sink with olive branches or fresh herbs. Used on bathroom vanities to hold makeup brushes, toothbrushes or everyday essentials. There’s something I really love about objects continuing to be useful long after their original purpose has ended. Especially when they still bring beauty to a space.

One of my favourite ways to reuse candle vessels is as small styling pieces throughout the home, simple objects that continue being both beautiful and functional long after the candle has finished burning. Visitors to my home often notice little pieces styled in unexpected ways throughout the house. Old furniture repurposed over time, collected objects used differently than originally intended, candle vessels sitting amongst books, olive branches or bathroom trays simply because they feel beautiful there. I’ve always been drawn more to how something feels within a space rather than what it was originally designed for.

In many ways, that’s also become part of the atmosphere people experience when they visit Crafty Chook workshops. Guests often tell me the home feels exactly like the brand itself, warm, relaxed, thoughtful and quietly layered with fragrance, texture and collected pieces that tell a story.

Our amber jars and ceramic coffee cup candles were intentionally designed to feel timeless enough to continue being used within the home afterwards. I’ve always been drawn to pieces that feel functional, warm and quietly beautiful rather than overly trend driven.

Candle vessels styled throughout the home long after the candle itself has finished burning, practical pieces that still bring warmth and atmosphere to everyday spaces.

I think homes feel most welcoming when they tell a story through collected objects and everyday rituals. A candle jar holding dried flowers. A handmade pottery cup used for morning coffee long after the candle has finished burning. A wooden tray styled with candles, room sprays and pieces gathered over time. Those small details are often what make a home feel personal. And perhaps that’s part of slow living too.

Learning to reuse what we already have. Styling thoughtfully. Choosing pieces we genuinely love and allowing them to evolve naturally within our homes over time. Sometimes the most beautiful interiors aren’t created from buying more at all. They’re created from seeing everyday objects differently.
