The Little things we do when spring arrives
Open the windows
One of the first things I find myself doing is opening windows and doors and letting the fresh air move through the house. There’s something about it that feels like a reset.
The heavier winter bedding gets washed and put away, lighter sheets come back out, linen cupboards are tidied, and windows get cleaned. It’s one of those simple seasonal rituals that makes the whole house feel different.

I love giving the bedrooms a little refresh at the same time, fresh sheets on the bed, windows open and a light mist of Room & Linen Mist over the freshly made linen. It’s such a small thing, but walking back into a bedroom that smells fresh and beautiful somehow makes all that washing and changing of sheets feel worthwhile.
Around the rest of the house, spring cleaning usually means reaching for Refresh Home Spray too, a quick spritz after cleaning the kitchen or bathroom, through the entrance, or anywhere that could do with that fresh, just-cleaned feeling. Spring doesn't require completely restyling your home. Sometimes it really is as simple as clean sheets, an open window and a beautiful fragrance in the air.

A spring home refresh: a quiet spring morning
Spring mornings might be my favourite. The light is different. The garden is waking up and when the weather allows, that first coffee of the day can finally be enjoyed outside again.
I love these ordinary little rituals. Making coffee in my favourite cup. Opening the doors while the house is still quiet. Lighting a candle and sitting somewhere sunny for ten minutes before the day gets going. Nothing particularly remarkable is happening and perhaps that's exactly the point. We spend so much of life waiting for occasions worth making special, when some of the loveliest moments happen on perfectly ordinary mornings at home. A good coffee. Sunshine through an open door. A favourite candle burning nearby.
Sometimes that is enough.

Bring the garden in
Spring always seems to draw us back outside. The garden starts waking up, everything feels greener, and suddenly there are little things to pick and bring indoors again. I love wandering outside and cutting a few stems for the kitchen bench or dining table, nothing elaborate, just whatever happens to be growing.
There’s something lovely about bringing a little piece of the garden inside. A few flowers in a favourite vase, a branch of greenery or some herbs from the garden can completely change how a room feels and it doesn't need to be perfect. Some of my favourite little arrangements are simply things I've gathered from around home and popped into a vase.
It’s another one of those small seasonal rituals that costs very little but makes home feel cared for.

Sometimes creating the feeling of home really is that simple: open the doors, pick something from the garden and bring a little bit of spring inside.
A spring home refresh isn't about completely changing our homes; it's the little seasonal shifts. Open windows, lighter linen, morning coffee outside, something picked from the garden and a fresh fragrance in the air. Those are the things that change how home feels.
Curating the feeling of home.
